Photo Post: Cartagena Street Art
September 3, 2016
A little over five years ago, a 16 year old boy by the name of Diego Felipe was shot and killed in Bogota for the crime of spray painting a cat on a wall. Since then, street artists both local and foreign have started a street art movement across Colombia as a form of protest against the unjust killing. Over time, the perception of graffiti has shifted, becoming more and more tolerated and even sponsored by cities and communities to beautify formerly bland neighborhoods and buildings. Below are some examples of the art that has spread through Cartagena, specifically in the neighborhood of Getsemaní.
